Getting Ready!
Chef Matrell of Specialties Gourmet was invited by the Gretchen Eberhart School and Chiles ESLP to teach students prepared to graduate how to shop and prepare healthy meals. The training took place over a two day period where Chef Matrell accompanied the students to Publix to gather groceries. The students were given the shopping list for the next days menu and were encouraged to seek out the items on their own. Day 1 |

They were very passionate about gathering the ingredients themselves, and they paid really close attention as I explained to them how and why the ingredients are used. | Day 2
The students were placed in groups and taught to prepare their part of the meal. After all the food was prepared, everyone sat down to enjoy the fruits of their labor. |
